BuyGoods

This guide explains how to set up BuyGoods as a merchant. The overall flow matches the generic merchant setup; use this page for BuyGoods-specific notes.

Step 1: Create the BuyGoods merchant

1. Go to Settings → Merchants and click Create Merchant
2. Pick BuyGoods as the Gateway, type a Name, and click Create & Configure
3. BuyGoods account ID: your BuyGoods vendor account ID, from your BuyGoods account settings
4. Click Save and continue. Products opens next.

Step 2: Assign Merchant to Domain

1. Go to Settings → Domains → Edit Domain
2. Select your BuyGoods merchant
3. Save

Step 3: Map Products

1. Go to Settings → Products → Edit
2. Open the Merchant information tab
3. Enter the BuyGoods Product ID for this product
4. Save

Links and Funnels

Use [BUY], [UPSELL], and [DOWNSELL] tags so links auto-adapt per domain and merchant. Avoid pasting hardcoded BuyGoods checkout URLs. If you do paste a BuyGoods checkout, order or upsell link, ElasticFunnels adds the visitor’s click ID (vid1 and external_order_id) when the page loads, so the sale still matches its visit. Values you set yourself are kept. To leave pasted links exactly as written, turn off Add click tracking to pasted buy links in the merchant’s Settings.

Step 4: Send orders to ElasticFunnels (order IPN)

BuyGoods tells ElasticFunnels about each sale, refund and chargeback through its Global IPNs. Until these are set, no BuyGoods sale shows up in your reports, even if the merchant, the domain and the products are all set up. In the guided setup, this is the Postback URL step: the postback URL with Copy, and where to paste it in BuyGoods. You can open the same URL later: click Postback Setup on the merchant’s row in Settings → Merchants. It looks like https://app.elasticfunnels.io/postback/vendor/<your code>/buygoods. In BuyGoods:

1. Go to Products → Settings
2. Under Global IPNs, paste the URL into New order URL
3. Paste the same URL into Order refund URL and Order chargeback URL
4. Leave the other fields as they are, or empty
5. Click Save changes

If a field already holds another tool’s URL, hover the field and click + to add a second URL instead of replacing it.

Step 5 (optional): Abandoned checkouts (customer IPN)

Skip this step unless you want abandoned checkouts sent to a call center or a follow-up flow.

1. In ElasticFunnels, open the merchant’s BuyGoods Abandon tab and copy the Registration Webhook URL. It ends in /buygoods-customer, not /buygoods.
2. In BuyGoods, go to Customers → Settings
3. Paste it into Fire this IPN for each NEW customer, and click Save changes
4. Leave Fire this IPN for each Abandoned customer empty

When a buyer enters their email, ElasticFunnels waits for the Abandon Window (10 minutes by default). If no order arrives in that time, the checkout counts as abandoned. This IPN never records a sale; the order IPN from Step 4 still has to be set.

Step 6: Test and check that it arrived

1. In ElasticFunnels, click Postback Setup on the merchant’s row and go to Test. Keep the window open.
2. In BuyGoods, on Products → Settings, hover New order URL and click Send test
3. Within a few seconds the window shows Merchant verified. If it shows No test postback yet after 2 minutes, check the URL and click Check again.
4. Open Settings → Logs → Merchant Postbacks. The test is listed with merchant BuyGoods and Response Code 200. Click Show Details to see what BuyGoods sent.

The BuyGoods test (buyer John Doe) marks the merchant verified but is not added to your reports as an order. To see a real order go through, buy from your live page and refund it.

Sales stopped showing up

Start at Settings → Logs → Merchant Postbacks, filtered to BuyGoods.

• Nothing from BuyGoods since a certain date: the IPN was removed or changed in BuyGoods. Check Products → Settings → New order URL. The merchant still says Verified, because that badge only records the first postback. When the daily check sees buy clicks but no sales, it adds an amber No sales reported since warning next to the merchant in Merchants; hover it to see the clicks and sales it counted. The warning clears with the next postback that arrives.
• Only abandon or customer postbacks arrive: only the customer IPN is set. Add the order IPN (Step 4).
• Postbacks arrive with an error code: click Show Details to read the response. A URL with another merchant’s code, or from another brand, sends orders to the wrong place: copy it again from Postback Setup.
• Orders arrive without a page or ad: the buy link had no click ID. Use [BUY] tags. A BuyGoods checkout, order or upsell link pasted into a page also gets the visitor’s click ID (vid1 and external_order_id) added when the page loads, unless Add click tracking to pasted buy links is off in the merchant’s Settings.

Other problems

• Wrong gateway on checkout: Verify the domain is assigned to BuyGoods
• Link not working: Ensure product mapping has the correct BuyGoods Product ID
• Missing affiliate data: Confirm affiliate sync settings and use adaptive tags
